During the promotional events for Salman Khan Sikandar spoke about the fact that South Indian audiences don't watch Hindi films in theaters and that Hindi people love South Indian superstars' films. In a recent interview in a conversation with DNA India, Nani has denied Salman's claim and highlighted the significance of culturally Salman's films are to the South.

In response to questions about the perceived low significance of Bollywood to South Asia, Nani was asked about the perceived lack of importance for Bollywood in South, Nani said, "That (Hindi cinema) is not new but the other one Nani Hit 3 (South cinema) was later. The affection South cinema is getting is relatively new. However, the affection Bollywood receives from the South has been present for many decades. If you ask a person in South India"What's your most loved Hindi movie?' they'll have fond memory that includes Amitabh Bachchan.

Nani affirms that South audience is awed by Salman Khan

Salman's comments, saying "Nahi Waha nahi Chale? Bina chale ban gaye kaise superstar? 100 percent Chaliti Hai (No it didn't happen). there? How did they achieve their status as superstars without success? They certainly do their best) And we all adore him. We've all seen so many of Salman's movies. Films like Hum hain Koun..! are a source of cultural significance in India. Didi Tera Devar Deewana, and other songs - we would perform them during weddings."

What did Salman Khan say?

In a media interview during Sikandar promotional events, Salman had remarked on Bollywood films that have a limited crossover with south India. South, "When my film is released in the South but it's not getting the number because their fan follows is very large. I'll be walking down the street and they'll shout 'Bhai Bhai" however they don't go to the cinemas. The way that we've accepted them in the US hasn't been the case here. Their films are popular since we have the opportunity to watch them, similar to those of Rajinikanth sir Chiranjeevi garu, Suriya or Ram Charan. However, their fans do not visit our movies."
